What are the most common allergens?
Research on dogs shows that as many as 85% of food-sensitive dogs have an intolerance/allergy to beef. 42% cannot tolerate chicken. It is often different types of protein to which they are intolerant, including dairy products, grain, gluten, and so on. Grain is often found in less high-quality dog foods: after all, it is a cheap source of protein for producers. However, there are many drawbacks to this: grain stops the intake of important nutrients and minerals, which are necessary for a good immune system.
At Celtic Connection, we believe that dogs deserve the best. That's why we choose grain-free food, with lots of real, fresh meat and natural ingredients that not only taste good, but are also healthy for your dog.

How to avoid problems and intolerances in your dog?
If you know that so many dogs have problems with beef, step one is: buy pet food without beef! For example, all Celtic Connection products are beef-free. Is the problem somewhere else? Then serve your dog food with meat from the same animal group for a few weeks. All Celtic Connection recipes are created in this way. We combine salmon and trout, chicken and turkey, duck and goose, and so on. That way, we don't mix two completely different types of protein, and we reduce the risk of intolerances.
